Old name of the town was Homa and it is located 17 kilometers on the north of Manavgat and takes place on the road going to Fatmalar Mountain which is close to Dumanlı - main source of Manavgat Creek coming from Taurus Mountains. In our region, the first date when human race settled in our region is 1820 B.C. In this region, after Lydian King Attalius, during 2nd and 3rd Centuries A.D., Romans and then Seljukians and Ottomans reigned. Homa still stands as a touristic town where the ruins of aqueducts (Roman Aqueducts) still exist in 6 places used to carry water from Dumanlı to Side with aqueduct in order to meet the water need of Antique City Side. Particularly 40 sections of aqueducts on the right side of Oymapınar Dam’s entrance attract the attention of all domestic and foreign visitors because of still standing by being full strong and sturdy.
